About the event
Jon has 30 years of experience in how the brain interprets the world around us. In this session, Jon will demonstrate how to enhance in-game decision-making by shifting players' perceptions of their surroundings.
Artificial Intelligence views information as versatile Lego-like components that can be combined into various predetermined structures. When players regard their fellow players in the same Lego-like manner, they focus solely on how to fit them into a predefined strategy. This leads players to make automated, mechanical decisions within the game.
Jon helps players shift their perspective, transforming their view of other players from Lego-like figures to obstacles that block their line of sight. He encourages them to navigate around these barriers to discover hidden elements they weren't aware of, leading to those surprising moments of realization: "Wow, I had no idea that was there!"
Players transition from viewing the game as a mere assembly of LEGO-like characters into creating captivating experiences. They begin to notice how everyone's movements relate to one another, recognizing the connection and flow that is often missed when focused solely on piecing together components. The game evolves into a stunning dance, a strategic chess match of space and time, making it both a joy to play and to observe.
Everyone is given opportunities to learn the skills to move around obstacles obstructing their view, to see what they didn’t know was there. Moments that make us all go Wow.
We play in a 1.2.3 Wow zone.
- Switch off the impulse to build Lego-like pieces of skills and knowledge into a specified game plan; and
- Embrace a serene sense of togetherness, equilibrium, tranquility, and awareness of our surroundings, and select a micro routine of movement to initiate moving around what we see; and
- Take a moment to reflect on how the micro routine of movement changed what is going on around us, then select and execute another micro routine, repeating this until we move past the things around us and see something we didn't expect to see. A moment that truly wow's us. A Wow moment.
We utilize competition to inspire each other to do 1.2.3. Wow. A game becomes a platform for self-expression, where individuals utilize their unique talents, circumstances, and physical abilities to craft collaborative and memorable Wow moments. Winning or losing every Wow moment pulls us towards unseen opportunity.
