One of the earliest examples of coaching players to play without thinking like a machine can be traced back to Phil Jackson and the triangle offense. Phil Jackson is regarded as one of the greatest coaches of all time. He was the head coach of the Chicago Bulls from 1989 to 1998, leading them to six NBA championships.
