I frequently receive the question: do I believe in high standards?

My answer is yes.

Then, they suggest that if I'm not striving for high standards, I must be considered substandard.

At this point, I often find myself rambling, struggling to respond to the inquiry.

High standards are undoubtedly valuable; I concur.

So, if I’m not working toward those standards, does that imply I fall below them?

It's a compelling line of reasoning, isn’t it?

Ultimately, I’ve found my response!

While it is crucial to uphold high standards, we should be careful not to become too absorbed by the systems, processes, and machinery put in place to support them. This machine-mindedness can result in excessive standardization, diminishing our humanity and our capacity to respond creatively to challenges that exceed our machines' limitations. Our Wowness. Therefore, we invite individuals from governing bodies to engage with SkillsofWow.org as well. We have transformed our viewpoint from seeing ourselves as part of a machine, system, or process, to seeing ourselves as outside those machines. This perspective means we use machines to give us more space and time to navigate in zig-zags, discover shortcuts, and embrace non-linear creative leaps. We embrace our humanity as we connect in a lively, fluid, interconnected ecosystem of people all accomplishing more than we imagined.
