However, Padaiyappa's life takes a turn when he rejects the marriage proposal of Neelambari (Ramya Krishnan), the arrogant and spoiled daughter of his father's friend (Radha Ravi). Neelambari becomes obsessed with Padaiyappa and vows to destroy him and his family. She manipulates her brother Suryaprakash (Prakash Raj) to kill Padaiyappa's father and take over his property. She also tries to separate Padaiyappa and Vasundhara by creating misunderstandings between them.

Padaiyappa, however, does not give up and fights back against Neelambari and her brother with the help of his loyal friends (Manivannan, Ramesh Khanna, Senthil) and his cousin Anitha (Sindhu Tolani). He also finds out that Neelambari's cousin Chandru (Abbas) is in love with Anitha and helps them to get married.
